The Top 25 F1 Liveries of All Time : #19

Well, I had to have a Ferrari in there at some point, didn’t I? In truth, I was almost tempted to be perverse and go with one of the designs from the late ‘70s – when the all-red tradition apparently went out of the window, and the hulking monoliths had plenty of white, plus Italian flag-coloured stripes draped across them. In the end, however, the look that ran through most of the ‘80s and ‘90s – while it was synonymous with utterly barren years in terms of titles – won out. This is one of the most widely-recognisable F1 liveries in history, due in part to constant use of it (or an approximation of it) in promotion whenever a generic-looking car was needed – on video game boxes, toys, birthday cards, and so on. Dark red, black wings, yellow flashes, minimal sponsors – classic.

I think this is the Ferrari featured in Grand Prix Circuit, which in virtually gaming terms was great at Monaco, bloody awful everywhere else.

I’ll admit that I’m not a huge Ferrari fan, but I think that’s more to do with not at all being a Schui fan. The classic Ferrair blood red is a really good look, as is the 2008 version with the metallic look. Totally agree with ’90 model as your preffered choice.
